Over the last 15 years I have had far more than my fair share of driving instructors.

I have tested the patience of most and completely broken the spirit of the lesser willed.

I HATED driving with a sweaty-palmed, queasy-stomached vitriol.

I was on the verge of giving up altogether when I stumbled across TJs and decided to have one last punt.

Tony has been an absolute revelation. He first built my confidence and then got me past my test, all within a very reasonable timescale.He is firm when required, funny the rest of the time, flexible, knowledgeable and, above all, a complete and utter consummate professional.He must have ice for blood such is his coolness under pressure.

I cannot praise him high enough and he should be your number one choice if you want to learn to drive.

Tony is without doubt the best driving instructor around. Learning to drive with him was one of the best experiences of my life. I would highly recommend Tony as a driving instructor. Learning to drive can be a very daunting and nerve racking experience but Tony's expert guidance and great sense of humour made it a very fun and enjoyable learning experience. Each lesson we would discuss my progress and Tony would tailor the lesson to my needs. This was very encouraging and built my confidence. It was great to see my skills building up and to reflect on how my driving was coming along. Even at times where I felt stressed or could not quite get the hang of a manoeuvre, Tony would calmly, patiently talk me through it and remind me to have faith in myself. Tony's clear instructions and unique way of phrasing them made them very memorable and easy to understand. When I started driving with Tony I was nervous, hesitant and had no confidence in my driving at all. However, Tony's friendly and understanding approach, and his seemingly infinite patience, helped me quickly feel at ease in the car. Within just a few lessons I had gone from fearing stepping behind the wheel, to actually looking forward to and enjoying driving! He structured the lessons around my busy timetable, and kept the lessons interesting and motivating. When the test approached I feared my nerves might return, but the high degree of teaching and preparation provided by Tony meant that when the test came, my nerves were nowhere to be seen and I passed the test first time, something I would have never thought possible a few months earlier! Learning to drive was a real challenge for me, coming to it a bit later than most and on top of that I had just two months to learn and pass my test. I was worried I might have bitten off more than I could chew! However, with Tony's excellent teaching, patience and good sense of humour the time flew by and things began to really pull together. I was able to pass my test first time, which I was very proud of particularly as I was never a natural driver. I don't think I would have passed first time if it hadn't been for Tony's teaching. New driver? from my experience, the solution is TJ's Driving Academy + you = a good result. Apart from my dad, Tony was the only driving instructor I had the pleasure of working with, his calm demeanour, sense of humour, friendliness and professionality, I can not think of a reason not to learn with TJ's. I learnt from scratch in a fairly short time and managed the Theory and Practical 1st time. He was flexible and helpful with the timings and pick up, drop off points of the lessons which as a student at Tremough, meant I could blend learning to drive and studying with no problem.
